If you are an artist who enjoys traditional or digital illustration, then the BCA-VEED 2D Stream is perfect for you.

2D Stream Overview

Kick start your career with the Flinders University & CDW Studios Bachelor of Creative Arts (Visual Effects and Entertainment Design) (BCA VEED). This award-winning, three year degree features industry instructors, live demonstrations and one-on-one industry feedback.

BCA VEED has four streams (like majors) of study, which allows the degree to be tailored to your interests. The 2D stream is perfect for those who are imaginative and creative, and are working toward a career in digital art, entertainment design or illustration. It includes core topics like the 2D Bootcamp, focusing on design and illustration fundamentals, along with electives that you can choose based on your key area of interest.

Every CDW Studios workshop is led by a world-class industry professional. These workshops include live demonstrations and are an opportunity to learn industry tips and tricks directly from those working in film and game industries. Students are encouraged to follow along as artists work through their creative process to stretch their skills. These artists also provide mentorship, support and guidance through your journey to becoming a professional digital artist.

Through this three year degree, we will equip you with the technical and creative skills you need to work effectively in a professional creative pipeline. You’ll learn what it takes to excel in the film and game industry, as a character designer, environment or prop designer, storyboard artist or even a 2D animator. On completion, you can also apply for the exclusive BCA VEED Honours program. This is an additional year of intensive study and mentorship to work on a personal project which can be pitched to studios.
