Introduction to Concept Art

September 2023

This is our first holiday workshop in Sydney for 2023!
During this 2-day holiday workshop, Simon will give students an introduction to his professional workflow.

Day 1
The first day will be an introduction to drawing in Adobe Photoshop with a series of small projects that students can follow along live in class.

Simon will cover the following principles:

  • Drawing
  • Intro to Photoshop
  • Shape Design
  • Composition
  • Thumbnails
  • Values

Day 2

The second day Simon will take a thumbnail all the way though to a finished piece of art and share with students the process of how to take something from a quick sketch and thumbnail to a final colour painting. You will be able to follow along with Simon to create your own concept art piece for your portfolio. He may incorporate some 3D tools in the workshop using Blender on the second day.

This workshop is perfect for those who are curious about concept art and want to build on existing skills.
