CDW Studios in partnership with Flinders University is proud to offer the three-year, full-time Bachelor of Visual Effects and Entertainment Design (VEED).
This program incorporates all the unique features of CDW Studios, including live demos, one-on-one industry feedback, and expert instructors, now as part of a comprehensive university degree at Flinders. Students pursuing the VEED can select from pathways in 2D, 3D, 2D Animation, 3D Animation & VFX.
Studying full time is the best way to fast track your career in the entertainment design and VFX industry. All classes are taught by industry professionals, ensuring students receive an up-to-date, industry relevant education. We offer a relaxed but focused learning atmosphere, helping students develop their portfolios and gain the skills needed to become industry professionals.

Five Stream Pathways
In the VEED program, you choose from five study pathways: 2D, 2D Animation, 3D, 3D Animation, and VFX, so you can choose the direction you’re passionate about. As you progress, you have the freedom to further specialize in your studies, allowing you to sharpen your skills and explore what excites you the most. This approach allows you to build a robust and sought after skillset as you finish your studies and start your career.

- Hands on Industry Training
Students learn directly from Industry Professionals in a hands-on learning environment. You will be spending most of your time "on the tools" - honing your craft and developing the skills needed to work in a studio environment.
- Portfolio Focus & Career Outcomes
The most important thing about succeeding in your career is building your portfolio. This is our number one focus - each CDW workshop is designed to develop your skills and build your portfolio. From weekly exercises to major projects, everything works towards leveling you up - fast.
- HECS-HELP Financing
VEED is delivered through a partnership between CDW Studios and Flinders University, who are a Commonwealth supported provider. This means eligible domestic students can apply for a HECS-HELP loan, rather than pay for the degree up front (PAYG).
- Flexible Study Options
Our hybrid learning model allows students flexibility when you need it and gives you quick, easy access to course resources online.
With training facilities in multiple cities, if you need to move interstate, you will be able to continue your studies seamlessly.

- International Masterclasses
Every year, renowned professionals from across the globe share their expertise through CDW Studios’ International Masterclasses. These are heavily discounted for current VEED students and continue to be discounted for our Alumni.
- Student Study Areas
There are student study areas at all Flinders and CDW Studios locations with kitchen, wifi and modern amenities.
- Sketch Club
Sketch Club is a group run by students for students. It’s an official Flinders University club, where students get together for student-led workshops, movie days, study meetups, to provide opportunities for peer review and continue to build our strong student community.

From your first lesson, you will be learning on-the-tools using industry standard software packages and best-practice workflows.
This means you will be learning on the same tools, using the same methods that you would be using on the job.

FUNDAMENTALS FOR LIFE
CDW Studios believes in a “Fundamentals First” approach to learning. Each of our education pathways (or streams) include bootcamp topics that are designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills required to take on any project. Having strong fundamentals are key to leveling up your art across any area.
Each “bootcamp” is broken up into a series of projects, teaching you essential skills with greater focus towards major projects in your second and third year of study.
Software moves fast, but the fundamentals don’t change. By having a deeper understanding of form, perspective, biomechanics or particle systems not only will you have up-to-the-minute training, you’ll also have transferrable skills to future-proof you to whatever direction the industry takes.
