3D Asset Creation 1


Throughout this 12 workshop you will be taken through the entire process of how to create 3D props and assets for film.

With many studios looking 3D modellers for film projects, Alex will teach you 3D modelling, texturing, lighting and rendering.

Alex will cover:

  1. Autodesk Maya 2018
  2. Substance painter
  3. ZBrush
  4. PhotoShop
  5. Topogun
  6. KeyShot

Class exercises include:

  • model and unwrap an Egyptian style Vase and then start texturing Inside Substance painter.
  • rendering Inside Arnold.
  • set up our lights inside of Maya, set up material network and render an image using Arnold.

The hardware requirements for the workshop are:

  • Laptop (MacBook Pro or i7 PC laptop with 16GB RAM are recommended).
  • Wacom tablet. Any size is good.
  • Notepad and pens/pencils for note-taking.

Alex Owen

Alex is a 3D character modeller and has worked on several animated shows such as the Adventures of Figaro Pho and Bottersnikes and Gumbles. He is also a regular contributor the to the Valve game Dota 2.
